A few months ago I found myself wanting to buy a Wolf River Coil product called the “Sporty 40”. It’s a simple loading coil you put at the base of a 17 ft telescopic whip (e.g. CHA SS17) so that it tunes up 40 meters. It’s a gratuitous product if you already have one of their adjustable coils. I figured it would be nice since I basically go back and forth between 40 and 20 meters with that thing anyway.

Unfortunately they haven’t been taking orders due to illness.

I had most of the hardware laying around, so I decided to build my own. I’ve got a post coming out soon that documents the build, so will be no secrets. That said, I’ve decided to put a few up for sale.
